Mediation is an interactive process where the Mediator, as a neutral third party, assists parties to a conflict to resolve their dispute. Mediation provides an alternative to the expense, emotional impact, and risk related to a traditional court appearance. Mediation offers an avenue for solving conflict where the parties remain in full control of the resolution of their issues. The mediation session is confidential, with limited exceptions, to give the parties freedom to make offers and explore solutions which may be viable. If an agreement is reached, it is solidified in writing and fully resolves the issues contained within it.
